About Sunu Philip, MD

Dr. Sunu Philip, MD, brings a wealth of surgical experience and international training to Pierce Street Same Day Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Cape Town in 2002 and has since pursued a rigorous path in advanced surgical care across multiple continents.

Education & Training

Dr. Philip began his surgical journey with a General Surgery residency at the South African College of Surgeons, which he completed in 2011. His passion for complex surgical procedures led him to pursue an Abdominal Transplantation Fellowship at Westchester Medical Center in 2012.
He later continued his surgical training in the United States, completing a General Surgery residency at Providence Park Hospitals in 2018, followed by a prestigious Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2020.
