Dr. Pottebaum received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.  He received his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Des Moines, Iowa.  He spent six years at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, CO where he completed his residency and fellowship in Gastroenterology.  He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Pottebaum and his wife are both originally from Sergeant Bluff and they have two daughters.
